ANDEAN AWAKENING, a 3-day expedition in the heart of the Andes
Day 1 – How does the journey begin?
In Mendoza, I'll pick you up at the meeting point and end of the hike. It's the YPF gas station across from the bus terminal. From there, we'll travel to the mountain refuge at 2,600 meters. Your body will start to feel the altitude change. It's ideal for getting into a rhythm, meeting the group, and preparing your gear. We'll then take an acclimatization hike to the Veguitas campsite.
Day 2 – What is the ascent to Cerro Lomas Blancas like?
We'll set off early to attempt our summit, starting with Cerro Andresito (3,100 m), then continuing towards Arenales (3,400 m), reaching the base of Lomas Amarillas, and finally heading for its summit (3,690 m). After taking photos, we'll return to the refuge to rest.
Day 3 – How does the expedition end?
We had breakfast, organized our gear, and began the return trip to Potrerillos, where we shared a delicious barbecue! Afterward, we continued our journey to the city of Mendoza. The end of the trip was relaxed, allowing time to calmly disembark and process everything we had experienced. We arrived back at the meeting point at approximately 5:00 PM.

This expedition requires advance planning
Due to logistical reasons, altitude, and environmental concerns, we work with small groups and limited dates. If you're interested, please contact us to see if it's the right time and if there's still availability.
Do I need prior mountain or high-altitude experience to join this expedition?
For the Initiation Milestones, we recommend having a desire to immerse yourself in the magical world of mountaineering and some training.
What is the level of physical exertion and what preparation do you recommend?
The level of difficulty is moderate; although we don't use our hands to climb, it is still challenging. You don't need to be in top shape, but we recommend exercising regularly 3 or 4 times a week. If you'd like to start this type of activity, contact us and we'll create a plan together. We also recommend a prior check-up with a doctor.
What type of accommodation is included during the expedition days?
The accommodations included are detailed in the "What's Included" section. In this case, all nights will be spent in a mountain refuge in Vallecitos, Mendoza.
What personal equipment should I bring, and what if I don't have everything?
The requested equipment will be provided in advance on a form so you can review it in advance. If we don't have the requested equipment, it can be rented. We recommend against purchasing without our guidance.
What are the payment methods?
1.- Single bank transfer - 10% off on the total value.
2. Installments: Your place is reserved with 40% of the total trip cost. This locks in the price, and the remaining balance can be paid in fixed installments in pesos, with transfers due between the 1st and 10th of each month. The trip must be paid in full before it begins.
